Events and Conditional Factors Analysis (ECFA+) is a method for creating concise descriptions of incidents. Investigators use ECFA+ to help them organise facts about what happened and to spot gaps in their data.

The manual is written for line managers and supervisors as well as specialists. The paper "Investigation tools in context" describes where ECFA+ fits in to the "investigator's toolbox".


ECFA+ uses sticky notes but these can be drawn-up with Microsoft Visio. A Visio template is available and will be updated soon.
